2026 ADVOCACY DAY AGENDA
Purpose of Advocacy Day
NYAMA Advocacy Day is intended to:
- Provide legislators with a practical understanding of New York’s aviation system
- Share insights on how airports support local economies, emergency response, and community connectivity
- Foster open dialogue on policy priorities and infrastructure needs
- Strengthen collaboration between state leaders and aviation professionals
The Importance of New York Airports New York’s public-use airports—large and small—play a critical role in:
- Economic development and job creation
- Emergency response and disaster preparedness
- Medical transport and public safety
- Business connectivity and tourism
- Military and homeland security operations
NYAMA’s membership includes airport managers and aviation professionals from every region of the state, offering firsthand perspectives on how state policy translates into real-world outcomes at the local level.
What Legislators Can Expect During Advocacy Day, NYAMA members:
- Participate in briefings on statewide aviation priorities
- Engage in scheduled meetings with legislators and staff
- Share district-level perspectives on airport operations and community impact
- Discuss opportunities for continued partnership and collaboration
