Advocacy CenterIn 2013, NYAMA members launched a coordinated advocacy campaign to restore New York State's investment in aviation after direct funding for aviation programs had been eliminated in 2010. By bringing airport operators, aviation businesses, and industry stakeholders together under a unified voice, NYAMA met with nearly 80 state legislators in Albany to highlight aviation's critical contribution to New York's economy and transportation network. These efforts successfully secured $10 million in the 2013-2014 State Budget for aviation programs, marking the return of direct state funding for aviation-related projects and grants for the first time in three years. More than a decade later, NYAMA remains the leading voice for aviation in New York, bringing the aviation community together to champion the investments and legislative priorities that ensure a safe, efficient, and prosperous aviation system for generations to come. |
